Mary, an Animoto video of her ‘09 Senior Portrait session

Mary … Senior ‘09

This is Mary White… recent senior ‘09 session. We wandered around downtown St. Charles (the historic district) and found all sort of colorful and cool places to take photographs. Mary is one of my senior ambassadors so if you are looking for cool, trendy, and modern senior portraits, look Mary up on Facebook to get a sweet deal on your session fee. You can see more on my flickr stream.

Morgan in the pool

She was in the [tag]pool[/tag] but there was not much water. Just a little left from spring cleaning. We were able to get in and shoot before they filled it up next week. Morgan was a trooper too, because that water was BRRRR Cold!!! Thanks to Abbey Bortfeld for helping out with the remote flash. These were all shot with a Canon 5D, 24-70L or 70-200L IS, and remotely fired [tag]580ex[/tag]. You can see more on my flickr stream.

Morgan is also going to be one of my ‘09 [tag]Senior[/tag] Reps so if you would like your [tag]senior portraits[/tag] done by Teri Eddy Photography, contact Morgan Pendleton for a great promo deal. You can find her on Facebook.

Wedding Season is here!

And although I don’t shoot weddings, I do offer [tag]Boudoir[/tag] photography. This is a terrific gift for your husband-to-be, but it’s not limited to just brides. I have photographed soon-to-be and newly married brides, single women, and women that have been married for a long time. It’s a great way to rekindle the flame, or just show your significant other how much you love him. These intimate sessions are held either as a private session or as a fun “[tag]ladies night out[/tag]” where several friends are invited and each get their own private session during the party.

So if you are doing the wedding scene this summer (either as the bride or guest) it’s the perfect time to schedule a session. Please contact me to privately discuss your options and pricing.

Also, here’s a great article about [tag]Bridal Boudoir[/tag] photography that appeared on [tag]MSN.com[/tag] written by [tag]Kate Wood[/tag] with contribution by [tag]Jessica Claire[/tag], a phenomenal wedding photographer.

Skateboarding photos

A couple [tag]skateboarders[/tag] met me at a playground in Wentzville so I could shoot some action shots using [tag]off camera flash[/tag]. I had my [tag]580ex[/tag] mounted on a tripod off to my side and used Pocket Wizards to remotely fire them. With some high shutter speeds, [tag]high speed sync[/tag], and a lot of luck, we got quite a few very cool action shots. These guys were great skateboarders and I learned a lot about the sport from them. I did a little experimenting with [tag]cross processing[/tag] and textures and you can see them all on my flickr site. But here’s one that I loved. I knew as soon as I snapped the camera that it was my favorite shot of the day. It’s almost like he’s hanging from the sun.

What is custom photography?

I ran across this very informative article written by Marianne Drenthe that gives great information on the ins and outs of [tag]custom photography[/tag]… why it is so very different than chain store portraits. Click this screen shot to go directly to her site and read.

Dove Onslaught

Love the idea of this. Our society is plagued by self-image issues. It’s a shame. I admit that most of the commercial and fashion work I do is with models that are super thin and fit. But what I love most is when I work with the ladies that come to boudoir parties… they show up very nervous about looking overweight in their photos. Once they see how sexy and beautiful they look, even before any photoshop is done (and I do do a little if they request it, but never unnaturally so.) That’s when I realize that we are programmed to hate our bodies because of the ads and magazines that we see and read. We need more ‘real’ or ‘average’ sized models out there showing us that even with some curves, we are still very sexy women.

Morgan

This is Morgan again. Each time I work with her I’m increasingly impressed with her styling and creativity. She has improved a great deal over the past year, and has a wide variety of looks.

This is Abbey again. We got together last week for another fashion editorial shoot and she did a great job. I love her hair like this. For other photographers that may be reading: if you are interested in working with Abbey, send me a note and I’ll put you in touch with her. She’s fantastic!
