ST. LOUIS — If you’ve ever dreamed of being in a movie with George Clooney, this weekend might be your chance.
The producers of Clooney’s next project, “Up in the Air,” will be looking for approximately 2,000 extras Saturday and Sunday during an open casting call at Crestwood Plaza at Sappington and Watson roads.
The call is open to anyone 18 and over. Particularly needed are people with airport, airline and hotel industry experience, although others will be needed to portray travelers and business people.
You’re asked to bring a pen, a recent, color full-length or waist-up snapshot and a completed form that can be found at www.mofilm.org. (Click on “Hotline.”) The casting call will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. If you cannot attend, you can mail the form and picture to the address on the bottom of the form. Most of those picked will work one day for $56.40 plus overtime.
Based on Walter Kim’s novel, the movie will star Clooney as a “career transition counselor” (translation: hatchet man) who has two goals in life: accumulate 1 million frequent flier miles and land a job at a mysterious company called MythTech. For complete information, go to www.mofilm.org.
When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough,
remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to
fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar
lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the
golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full they agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up
everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous
“yes.”
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents
into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
“Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents
your life. The golf balls are the important things – God, family, your children, your health,
your friends, and your favorite passions–things that if everything else was lost and only they remained
your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car.
The sand is everything else — the small stuff.
If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have
room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your
happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner.
Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.”
Take care of the golf balls first — the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. “I’m glad you asked. It
just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.”
Teri is looking for models! Very little ones!
If you are having or know of someone having a baby in the St. Charles Area, Teri is looking for 3 newborn models age 4-10 days old. I’m talking brand new babies.
Teri will come to your home with a small portable studio set up to take portraits of the wee one (a couple of shots with mom and/or dad can be included but this session is primarily focused on the baby. No siblings please.)
In exchange for a signed model release (so Teri can use the images in her portfolio, advertising, and other promotional pieces, etc.) your session fee will be waived, you will receive 24 5×7 flat (double-sided) birth announcements for free, and half off any prints you purchase from the session, should you choose to.
Offer expires when all 3 spots are filled.
Check the pricing page to download the latest senior pricing. It’s different from before in that there are no longer pre-determined print packages to choose from. You build your own with a minimum purchase requirement. Also, due to such a great demand, it now includes several DIGITAL packages to choose from. Yes you heard that right. We are in the digital generation and I want to provide what people want. So many requests just can’t be ignored.
Now, for those of you that have already booked and paid for your session or have completed your portrait session, you are still free to order from the old price sheet if it suits your needs. You also have the choice of making an order from the old price sheet as well… but you have to choose one or the other. All sessions booked going forward must order from the NEW pricesheet and the old pricing is null and void.
Please email or call with any questions about the change. I’m happy to answer your questions and help you in any way that I can.
Have a terrific weekend everyone!
… and for you Mac lovers out there, here’s a funny vid I just had to share.
The new price sheets will be published this week. Any bookings that were paid for before this change will still be using the old price sheets so don’t fret. However, there are new packages being offered in the new pricing so if one of those appeals to those already paid/booked, they may choose either.
Bottom line, all bookings going forward will be subject to new pricing. All previously paid & scheduled bookings can choose from either price sheet.
he’s a total CUTIE!
